The Cottage Mama (Lindsay Wilkes) was started in October 2010 as a sewing, crafting and cooking blog. Soon after the blog began, The Cottage Mama started offering ready-made and custom boutique style clothing for sale on Etsy. After the demand for clothing became so much, The Cottage Mama redirected it's business offering many of its' popular clothing designs as patterns for sale. Since then, Lindsay Wilkes (owner / designer) has been featured in many of todays popular sewing magazines, traveled around the US teaching at sewing shops and conferences, released several sewing DVD's and can be seen on season 7 of the PBS sewing show 'Sew It All TV'. She released her first sewing book, 'Sew Classic Clothes for Girls: 20 Girls' Dresses, Outfits and Accessories from The Cottage Mama' published by F & W Media in November 2013. You can purchase the book in the shop. Lindsay Wilkes now designs fabric for Riley Blake Designs and many of her fabrics can be found in her shop as well as many quilt shops around the world.
